Courthouse - Antwerp
|
This remarkable project located at the Square Bolivar has turned into a real eye-catcher in the Antwerp area. It is not surprisingly that this project was a major challenge to Dekkers, amongst others due to the structure of the different roofs, the small terraces and the difficult assemblies between the different materials. Dekkers was assigned to cover 17,000 m² of roof surface and to install the insulation below the stainless steel roofs. The roof structure consists in part of a hot roof and in part of an inverted roof. For the hot roof, a damp barrier, polyurethane insulation Eurothane from Recticel and 2 layers of waterproofing covered by roof tiles from Zoontjens Beton were used. The roof part between the buildings is equipped with an inverted roof. To this effect, 2 layers of bituminous water sealing and Roofmate insulation from Dow were used; onto that, the contractor installed a garden roof.
